Hanoi Pension's dining room offers a warm and peaceful space where you can enjoy delicious meals while being surrounded by the quiet nature of Mine-no-Hara Highlands in Shinshu. More than just a place to eat, it's a space where guests from all over Japan and around the world can meet, share travel stories, and connect on a personal level. The atmosphere is so welcoming that you'll feel like saying "I'm home." We hope your time here becomes a cherished page in your travel memories.
We provide various amenities to ensure your comfortable stay with us.
Hair dryers are available in the bathrooms and at the 1st basement floor washbasin (in front of the sink).
The 1st basement floor washbasin area is equipped with amenities including towels and toothbrushes.
Bath towel and face towel sets are provided in front of the bathroom and are available free of charge. Please inform our staff if you'd like to take them to the outdoor hot spring.
We also provide free waterproof sheets (please inform us in advance if needed).
The bathroom is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body soap.
Please bring your own pajamas.
We have 8 Western-style rooms, each with 2 beds. Perfect for families and groups.
We have 2 family rooms that can accommodate up to 4 people each (1 bunk bed + 2 single beds). Ideal for family stays.
For guests with small children, we can arrange to place two beds together. Please feel free to inquire.
For the comfort of all our guests, smoking is not permitted inside the building.
We have provided an ashtray at the entrance for smokers. We apologize for any inconvenience, as complete separation of smoking and non-smoking areas is challenging, and we appreciate your understanding.
During summer months, we also place ashtrays in the parking lot and on terrace tables, allowing you to enjoy your smoke while stargazing.
Our pension's unit bath is of standard size and can accommodate families. You can use it privately, allowing you to relax in your own space.
For those seeking a more complete hot spring experience, we recommend the following nearby day-trip hot spring facilities:
All restrooms in our facility, both men's and women's, are equipped with washlet toilets (bidet toilet seats with warm water) for your comfort.
Just a 5-minute drive to Sugadaira, where you'll find a 7-Eleven (open 7 AM - 11 PM with ATM), a local supermarket, and a coin laundry.
We understand that getting sick or injured during travel can be worrying. Sugadaira Kogen Clinic is just a 5-minute drive away. It's open daily during summer and winter seasons, with irregular hours during other times.
There are also after-hours medical centers in Ueda City and Suzaka City, both about a 30-minute drive away.
Welcome to Hanoi Pension.
We are a family from Vietnam who moved to Japan in 2017. Captivated by the nature of Nagano, the changing seasons, the clear air, and most of all, the warm welcome from the local community, we decided to open a small pension here.
Our family of four includes my husband, who holds a Ph.D. in Law and Public Policy from the Netherlands and currently works as a radio personality. I graduated from Hanoi University of Languages and International Studies and the Academy of Finance, and now work as an interpreter and accountant.
Our eldest son is in his second year of high school at a private school, and our daughter is in her first year of junior high. While we're still studying Japanese, we spend our days energetically, thanks to the kindness of our neighbors.
We hope this pension becomes more than just accommodation—a place where people can connect. We aim to create a warm space where travelers can heal in nature, discover the charm of the region, and enjoy simple interactions with our family.
Sometimes we might chat about the flowers and herbs we grow in our garden, serve Vietnamese home cooking, or gather around the wood-burning stove in winter to talk about skiing... We hope the time you spend here becomes a cherished memory in your life's story.
We bring you the charm of Nagano, accompanied by Vietnamese hospitality.
We would be honored if you could think of this as your "home away from home"—a place you'll want to return to again and again.
Thank you very much.
